  • RRJTFE: Jump To File Extension Plugin (beta)

This plugin is inspired by DJik's awesome, but no longer supported, JTFE plugin for realtime playlist searching and queueing. It is completely recoded from the ground up since I couldn't get through his source code.

    Release: 11/07/2008 Beta
    Included Features:
    - Fully skinnable using RR's current standards (Carwings sample skin included)
    - Direct control of Winamp v5.13 Jump To File plugin, which includes:
    - - Queueing tracks
    - - Playlist searching
    - - Jump To File
    - - Queue List Management

    Update: 11/07/2008
All the functions of the Winamp JTF plugin are now useable thru this extension plugin. You must use the JTF version (v0.97.7) attached on this post for all the functions to work correctly.

Those using v0.96fg and the latest version v0.99 will be very buggy when trying to use this plugins queueing functions.

what exactly does this do? You enter a search query and the result is found and played without changing the playlist? If so thats excellent!

Make sure its plugin manager compatible

Yup. It works just like DJiK's old plugin except for the fact that it is skin based and not an embedded plugin.

You can query your current playlist for tracks during runtime w/o changing your current playlist.

The only difference is that this plugin will have toggle the queue list and playlist since RR can only handle one CL per screen.

that sounds great.. i was thinking about implementing something in my skin to handle that with flash.. sometimes i just wanna listen to one song in a playlist and not totally recreate a playlist when searching for one song.

Nice, Sal. This could be a great addition to RR.

                    Sal,

I'm not getting this to work properly. Should Winamp's jump to file plugin be installed also? Should it specifically not be installed?

With the Winamp JTF plugin installed everything locked up. I removed Winamp JTF and now I'm not having lockups and your plugin correctly finds the files I'm searching for, but I can't select or play any of the files. I'm using your plugin with DFX 4.0; perhaps there's some sort of conflict there.

What version of Winamp are you using?

The WA JTF plugin should be installed already if you're using v5.13.

I've attached the JTF plugin that used to develop this plugin w/ v2.95 & v5.13

EDIT: It would seem that the WA JTF version included as part of the v5.13 install is different than the one I've included in the first post, which is what I used to develop this plugin. This could explain why my carPC and laptop didn't respond to the plugin when I tried to test it on those machines.

Im a little lost here. I have it isntalled correctly.. and i run "RRJTFE" and i get a screen that says "Playlist" and "No Matches Found". If i search for a term it brings up the osk then just returns to the same page with the same result. Maybe a step by step guide would help.

                        EDIT:

Nevermind i forgot i was testing winamp 5.541. 5.13 works. But the Queue and Playlists dont toggle.

Can you guys post what version of the Winamp JTF plugin you are using?

Go to Preferences > Plug-ins > General Purpose

Please bear with me. This is my first real plugin and I'm on a learning curve.

When you say "Queue and Playlist," are you talking about the window or Play/Enqueue buttons not working?

I haven't enabled the Queue List and Management features yet as it's really buggy.
