You need BlueSoleil in order for it to work with Ride Runner.
I have an HTC Hero and it works great.

You can't use RR build in Phone Control as it is absolete. You need to pair your phone in bluesoleil once, then it connects every time. Download .net Bluetooth Phone Control from the released plug in section (http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/rr-r...ne-plugin.html), run the installer and select bluetooth phone, then you ready for use in RR.

I got it to work, but my contacts dont show up. changed the menu.skin txt file to read "load;mobilephone.skin;" copied all the files from carwings into the omega folder and it connects to phone. How do I get my contacts to show up when calling and is there a way to link the phone book?

                Omega

The OLD Omega skin used FreePhone, which is no longer supported.
I am working on my new ONS skin, ONS=Only Nessesary Stuff.
It uses the new Plugin and works like a charm, thanks to Lambosprit.
                It looks like this now.......

You can't link to your phones phone book but you can put contacts into a text file called mobilephone_PC.txt. This allows you to call contacts fromm RR but only from this file.

If an incomming number exists in you PhotoPath (see ini file) then that photo can be displayed in a skin using a special indicator. for example I01,340,66,120,150,"FILE;$mobilephone_photopath$"

                        MGD,
How did you manage to do that ?
I have been trying for the last couple of days and am miserably failing. BlueSoleil sees the phone, pairs with it and then does nothing. BlueSoleil has HTC in the list of phones but no Hero, meaning that i am left with zero.
Any help you could provide (how you achieved conectivity) would be brilliant.

                        Thanks in advance,

                        DTR.

Go into the bluetooth settings on the Hero and scan for devices. Once it finds the carPC, click on it and select "connect". That should Connect the phone to the PC. Now hover with the mouse over the phone in bluesoleil and write down the Mac Address of your phone. Go to the mobilephone.net folder in the plugins folder under RideRunner and open the MobilePhone.ini file and look for the address line.
                          Address=(your Mac Address)
Now you should be good to go.
BTW, my phone was rooted with Android 2.2. Now I have the stock EVO Shift and it works out of the box.

So Does it matter at all if your phone is in the drop-down list (in bluesoleil 6.4)?
I selected Samsung, but don't see Galaxy-s, Captivate, or SGH-I897 (all of which apply to my phone). So I selected some random Samsung model. With MobilePhone.net I was able to dial out from RR!! Any Android users see benefit of going to BS V.8? Or could there be a model in the list that works for Android phones? Looking at Bluesoleil's V.8 compatibility list and not seeing any droids in the list...
