  • Tutorial for new RR skining

Anyone know where I can get the tutorial for the new RR skining. I read the .ini files and they are totally different.

The skin format has always been the same.. For that skins with transparency, the format is still the same -- there are just more options. Check these threads (first 2 are the standard tutorials for skinning, 3rd one is an example with transparency):

The INC statement allows you to include code fragments from seperate files. Effectively it is as if the content of that file is cut and pasted on the line that has the INC statement. If you have features like button bars that you use on many screens it means you can write the code once, then use it as often as you like.

It looks like the screen is also being built up with images for the buttons. Again, this is just a technique that some skineers use. I used a similar approach with a skin I called Minimal, that allows you to change the button bar from the top of the screen to the bottom of the screen. Can't recall the use for the X command.

The commands between @'s ie @command@ is the syntax for setting the press and hold function for a button.

Anything else you want to know about, just ask.

        cheers

Just to explain the more 'unusual' items on your .skin example:

X,<NAME> -- Loads Extension plugin with specified name
FXX -- Loads specified flash movie into skin
INC -- Includes external file specified in that exact spot of the .skin file
IMG -- Loads specified Images onto a position/layer of the skin
B, L lines are as usual.

Those commands are just a little more "advanced" so to speak, but they're all declared in Skin Commands.txt ..

Also lookup the /DEFINE statement in skin commands.. that's what's being used in those include files for #TITLEBUTTON0# and such..
