  • looking for an external 5.1 Sound card thats RR friendly

I know this is a hardware related question but i posted it here because it also relates to the best front end on the planet ...

I got my system up and running today in my new car.. everything went without a hitch.. my only issue is the motherboard only accepts two channel audio and i have a 5.1 setup in the car. So this means i'm lookin for a new external soundcard and i'm looking for advice. Soundcard must have the following qualities.

    1. Hibernation friendly
    2. 5.1 sound
    3. RR friendly.. meaning i can control the outputs via the mixer in rr

That bein said.. who's can give me a recommendation.

EDIT.. i meant to post this in the main road runner forum... someone please move it

I very recently purchased this product:

    http://www.amazon.com/Zalman-ZM-RSSC...9786058&sr=8-1

The big issue is how does your computer need to interface with your stereo. In my case this product was my only option.

Ok, you're in the same boat I am then. Take a look at that Zalman device that I posted. It works well so far.

USB cord only, no power cord.

Only thing I don't like is that it has manual volume dials for each pair of channels. I don't see why they didn't just write that into the software.

most soundcards that are external have manual controls.. but are you saying you cannot control each channel via the software?
