  • Resizing gps software failes

    Greetings,
    here's my problem:

I use an emulator provided by Microsoft to simulate a Windows Mobile 6 environment. In this environment I want so run navigons pocket-pc software.

So I created a .ini file under launch and set up the correct information such as window name and path.
So I start up my emulator with rr, and then cpu goes up like 100% and stays there.
You can see rr how it's trying to resize the emulator's window to full width, but that doesnt work because it's got a fixed size of 320x240 (greyed 'maximize'-button up right).
Then I found out something about the launch.skin, concerning the last lines starting with A01.

I successfully resized other programs, but not the emulator. My problem is atm, I dont know how to calculate the correct sizes.

I attached a screenshot, you can see the emulator. The total sizes are written to the screenshot, including all parts of the window, i.e. frames, etc.

Are these sizes correct for use in launch.skin?
If now, how do I calculate them correct?

    Cheers, Phreak

    You can't resize emulator...
You can run emulator with specified size... (but IGO use : 320*200 or 640*400)

I cannot resize this windows, of course.

But I do not want to resize it, I just wanna run it embedded, pinned at the upper left corner. My problem is, I dont know the correct sizes to add them in launch.skin.

So rr keeps on resizing it which crashes the system. I just need the correct sizes and I'll be happy

Where can I define such a bigger embedded-field with which kind of syntax?

Edit:I found out how to define it, but it doesnt work..

I just need the correct rules to calcuate the window size in pixels...

You just have to specify the position and size desired for the window with the "A" definition -- C is for clipping the screen.

                  Follow this FAQ:
                  http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/rr-f...in-screen.html

Then change the A definition to something like this:

                  A01,150,100,326,284

I'm trying to embed WM6 Emulator in RR and meet the same problem because the WM6 Emulator window is non-resizable. Searching in the forum and then found this thread but did not see an effective solution.
Has anyone successfully solve this problem?

As you see in Post 12 of this same thread.. though the emulator is incredibly slow on low power machines...

                              The solution is to:

1-If you can set the window name of the emulator, use a simple window name with no spaces, make sure you
2-Match the embed area ("A" definition in the skin) to the size of the window without the border (which RR will remove when embedding). You can do this by using winspector spy to remove the WS_BORDER, WS_DLGFRAME and WS_THICKFRAME from the "Edit window styles" menu option after selecting the window. Once you remove those window styles you should see and be able to measure the window size without the border and use the width and height in RR.
