I dont know if you can embed the same app on 2 skins, I woudlnt think so, but you can try making the GPS skin your menu skin, and in the startup options in RRConfig you put "gps"... this however, would make you loose your fullscreen GPS, unless it is possible to do what I said in my first comment...

I like the red LCD font. that will match very nice with the TT dash.

There are a few "special" skin files... Map Monkey is one of them... the others are Video_player, Radio, Launch and TV... You can most definitely make mapmonkey run embbeded in the main window, but RR will not pull off the information from MM if that's the case.. it will simply run it embbeded like any other application.. the definition is:

              A01,XXX,YYY,WWW,HHH,RED,GREEN,BLUE
              (Check skin commands.txt for details).

Said the above, it doesn't prevent you from making a MM skin that has all the above functions you showed above.. you can most definitely add a start command such as "destinator" to go directly into the gps screen (above) but you will still need a menu.skin file to load first.. A suggestion would be to have it as the audio player (with your playlist etc) and you'd barely feel the screen changes when alternating from GPS to main window (check the BFM skin to know what I'm saying).

What I want is just include MM (or any other GPS app) Screen and not the whole app, just want to show in menu.skin a map with my possition.
If I can do it with MM Destinators thats optimal and if I have to use different app thats fine cuz I use GpsGate.
So can I pipe the screen from Destinator to menu.skin and scale to like 500x300 without the functions like in GPS skin?

If thats not posible can I run 2nd instance of Destinator in manu.skin?

MM is embbeded directly INTO the DESTINATOR_GPS skin in RR. If you wish to, you can disable the interfacing with MM (in MM's settings.ini) and it will embbed it as a normal application. Once that's done, MM should embbed like any other application -- but this costs you the interfacing abilities of displaying and controlling MM from within RR..

Now, when using any application embbeded like above, if you try to run it from multiple screens, it should show the same application embbeded -- without re-opening it, but re-using it's last intance as long as you don't close it (in which case it would restart when entering such screen). So you could for instance make MM run embbeded in the main menu by adding an Application window to menu.skin and then use the run command to run it in there.. if MM is already running it will simply place it in the new location on the new screen... you can run MM initially from the start command in RRConfig then the GPS will already have it loaded (or by any means you woudn't need a gps window...

If you send me the skin files you have I can help you with the definitions.. but I am unclear of exactly what you want to do ...

PS: The TV and video screen can also "look" like the same screen, but they will ONLY work if the skin files are named "video_player.skin" and "tv.skin"..

                    just an idea
why don't you clone menu.skin to destinator_gps.skin + application part or GPS
then enter a simple flash on th box area in menu.skin.
may be welcome sign or whatever then send a "GPS" command at the end of flash (no repeat)
then it will change to destinator_gps.skin which will exactly same look as main menu with all the buttons...

Wait...now let me get this straight...if i do so, as you describe above...NM will "preload" in the backround...and wont place itself ontop of RR?? so when i click on gps within RR, it will already be loaded and simply embed in the gps window????

i think if command, "GPS", from a flash in main menu is sent to RR
it will do samething as GPS button does. so yes it will be embeded in gps window...
what i tried to decribe was...
make gps menu look like main menu and when you start RR
it will bring up main menu first with simple flash playing without repeat...
then at the end show, flash will send a "GPS" command
and RR swiches into GPS window
gps window looks just like main menu with gps window in middle instead of flash show in the box.
                        just a thought...
oh... when you clone main menu skin to gps menu skin
make sure you disable gps button in gps menu skin.
or replace it with some rotating flash which indicates gps is in use.
