I'm working on a flash skin, as the effects and things you do.. well you will see. Couple of things so far i've found. Would it be possible to alter the DATE varable name.. to something like DATEE infact anything other than DATE will do, the software i'm using wont allow this varable, more a just dim another one and let it = DATE just for me.. :-) This would be great.. the other thing I've come across is that theres no repeat on the volume buttons, would it be possable to include this like it does for the skin ? If it would need two commands, button up / down then this is possible. If you 'Guino' would like a taster let me know.. its very nice ;-)

Another problem i've found is the prev/next dont work as theres no button hold down start when sending commands via the fscommand, also it tends to skip a couple of tracks at a time. Ok.. just noticed the nexttrack commands in the skin txt file.. Can confirm these do work, but fail to update the selection list on audio..

the flash is for RR :-) I've only started learning flash yeasterday.. but its coming along, as you said got a slide in menu, sound clicks on buttons, fading in stuff. But i'm trying to stop the movie when its loaded so not to zap cpu power.. looking forward to releasing a screenshot.

CdRSKull I am not sure if swishmax saves out an FLA or anything but if it does sent it to me and i can do a work around for your Date problem. You can access variables via bracket notation to work around compiler errors. Its is erroring because Date is reserved. So you can do something like Foo["Date"]...again not sure how swishmax works. Feel free to email me with flash quesitons.

                teaser

ok, the below image is from a flash skin i'm doing.. the menu on the left goes in and out if you hover over it, also it makes a sound coming in and out. I have also included sound so when you press a button you hear a click.. Think this is a good idea when your driving because say you want to play 2 tracks a head, rather than looking you just listern for two click. What I've also done is made the flash transparent.. so the backgound can be changed by a single file, and any colour can be used.. it will be shipped with about 10 different coloured backgrounds, that will change depending which page your on, but theres nothing stopping you just selecting one or even making your own up :-)

If you can generate a Up/Down "commands" for every button you need, I can add the repeat from within RR. The othe option is you to call the fscommand many times and I can then add a "repeat" code as parameter to the fscommand stuff.

The skin is looking great by the way.

I can make a "renamed version" for date, very easily, but I assume flash should also have a function to obtain time and date as they're very basic -- I'd look into that first...

Also forgot to mention something to you:

If you use scrolling labels, they stay Over the flash objects, so that could be an option if they don't move/hide within the flash object (if you can't get the date from flash).

Yea the best way would to be issue an fscommand with a repeat parameter have RR handle it and then when they "let up" issue one that tells it to stop repeating.

You can easily make scrolling labels in flash by using the hscroll property of textfields, by the way.

Check out www.flashkit.com - it's an excellent site with a lot of free audio samples too (gotta trawl though the crap though). Lot's of tutorials and code available too. Also check out www.flash-forums.co.uk - it's pretty good for Q & A's - the guys on there are really helpful. Just ask for what you want and they usually come up with a few different coding methods
