that's what I'd suggest... alternatives are to make the button within the same flash movie, and have it play when pressed, then execute the function using fscommand... all of it requires some effort though..
Well this is what I wanted to do.
While in the main menu, I wanted while pressing a button, for instance the GPS button, a small flash movie would show and after the flash movie has ended the GPS screen would come up. I tried using a menu command that pops up and in that menu a put my flash movie. The flash movie plays, after the flash finishes the menu screen closes and then the control is given to RR which in turn opens the GPS screen. So far so good. . The problem that Iím having is that my flash movie plays only once. It only plays the first time I press the button and the control is given to RR after the flash has finished. The second time I press the same button the menu pops up but the flash is not played so the menu stays on top and control is not given to roadrunner. Is their some way of resetting the flash movie to play again when the button is pressed. I hope you understand what I mean.
tolisn, I believe Guino is working on a feature to set a skin as discardable. Meaining RR will load/unload the flash on a skin so your menu animation will always play from the beginning. There are also ways of doing it in flash too.

will a flash movie continue playing on a skin if it isnt in focus? if not, then just make your flash movie go to the first frame and start again, at the same time you tell RR to change screens... with a bit of luck, by the time the flash goes to the first frame it will be paused by RR

First create a customindicator in the skin with the flash then using this as a dynamic variable in flash.. so when its on it plays, when its off it stops.. You would then trigger this label via the button presses.. say you enter the skin you would use a LOAD;newskin.skin||SETIND;!MYINDICATOR;ON this would then start the flash movie playing.. then you would just need to make sure on leaving you turn the indicator off. .
