  • Brushed Metal PSD Probs

Hi all,my problem is that i'm trying to create a hybrid of the original BM skin, see pic:
i want the top of BMV1 and the bottom of BMV2,can i mix the PSD's to achieve this? the pic was done butchering the Jpeg's but you lose too much quality that way.
The other prob im having is with the BMV1 MENU PSD,i cant stretch the buttons(not a bug,i just don't know how)any help would be much appreciated.

There are a number of ways to do this. You can copy the button layers and paste them to the other PSD.
    • Ctrl+Left Click on the layer picture to select the layer.
    • Ctrl+C to copy
    • Right Click the layer discription and select "Copy Layer Style"
    • Ctrl+V to paste on the other PSD
    • Right Click the layer discription and select "Paste Layer Style"

If that doesn't work out for you I can think of some other ways.

Well there's no easy way to explain how to do this. It is just a matter of tinkering around until you get it right. You could always try "flattening" the BMV1 skin (Layer>Flatten Image) and selecting from the top, down to the menu.

Then copy that over to BMV2. Make sure "Snap" is on so all the on/off/down images snap to the top of the BMV2 skin and line up evenly.

Your not compressing so you shouldn't lose quality.

cant someone with good skills do this? The design in Brushed Metal is really clean if you see Media Car skin but in Brushed Metal V2 is to much... The music tag at the top is ugly and ruins the cleaness of Brushed Metal, it should be like the pic at the top but with the time in the corner.. I hope someone wants to do this

You can also use the duplicate layer function, in the "layers" box right click on the layer you want to copy over to the other skin and select duplicate layer. It will then bring up a box asking where you want the layer to go.

You do know you can get rid of most anything you don't want in BMV2 by editing the BMV2 PSDs.
