  • liquid smoke skin ... Navigator 4 & My weather location

    I'm using the Liquidsmoke skin which is fantastic - The only thing it doesn't do is work with my Sat Nav for which I'm using Navigator 4.3 (Europe) ...

    In a previous skin this did launch although in it's normal mode and not in the "Car PC mode" ... Anyone know how I can solve these 2 problems?

    In addition, I can't figure out how to change my location for the Weather page ... I'm in Nottingham UK ... I remember setting this in MCE My Weather plugin on my home media centre but can't seem to find a parameter to change anywhere ... any ideas?

    Really good skin overall though!!

    Cheers

    i remember you talking about navigator before, i have no idea what it looks like or any info about it. Basicly all you should need is the window title and path and it should embed, but thats assumeing it works like any other normal windows app, but we all know there are hard to embed apps. Other than that, i cant really help much as i know absolutely nothing about this app.

    As for the weather, weather in RR has little to nothing to do with MCE My Weather plugin (crap IMO, but thats another topic). You set the location of weather in RR.ini file located in the root install of RoadRunner

    add these two lines to the bottom of the file (if you dont allready have them)
    cityweather=Chicago, IL
    weatherunits=USA

    On another note, (@RR devs) can we please have the weather config inside of RRConfig.exe so people can stop asking where to config it? I think it has to be the most asked question, im not sure why the answer is so hard to find, its out there in multiple threads.

      LS - Thanks for the quick reply!

      I'll give the Weather location a shot tonight - sounds simple enough ... Presumably I can find the exact wording of my location on the weather site itself...? (Nottingham, UK I think)

      Navigator is from http://www.directions.ltd.uk/moreinfo.php?id=1060 and is just a normal operating windows app but has a nice "CarPC" feature which I reckon is causing the embedding conflict ...

      ...I've set the Navigator4_3.exe location in RR but when you select Sat Nav from your skin, Nothing happens .... This causes a problem for me as this is a large part of the Car PC functionality but I do love your Skin for everything else ...

      I'll have another fiddle about and see what's going on ...

      If anyone else has any idea's I'd appreciate any comments ...

      Cheers

        What "Sat Nav" button are you pressing? My copy of Liquid Smoke 3.0 and LSX both have "GPS" buttons. LSX has a "SAT" button - but that's for SATellite radio (Sirius/XM) - not satellite navigation. Is it possible your mistake is that simple?
