  • IG Nag screen/ embed issues FIX how to

not sure where to post this, could go in a few differnt places, but since i rarely venture out from the RR forum, here it goes.

someone posted this how to before, cant remember who, and i could never find that thread again, its burried inside a thread on a different topic.
Anyway this is how to change the window title of the nag screen in IG (by default it has no title) so it never hangs up or other apps dont have trouble finding the window with no title.

    step 1:
    back up iGuidance.exe
    use ResHacker to open iGuidance.exe
under Dialog go to 1028 and click on 1033, you should see the code for nag screen on the rightside now.
    edit
    CAPTION ""
    to
    CAPTION "nag"
    save file

    step 2:
go to your skinbedder dir >iGuidance and edit startup.au3 with notepad.
    WinWaitActive("nag")
    save file
    compile script
you will need AutoIT3 to recompile the script to startup.exe

now when ever you launch skinbedder, it will NEVER get hugup on the nag screen looking for a window that has no title, which happens sometimes and also slows down the embeding process
and sometimes makes the window not embed properly.

If you are using any of my skins, this will fix the issue of SB/IG embeding and having to click the FS button to fix the embed.
These changes will be included in an update to LSX later this week (LS3.0 is nolonger supported) and LSX VOID when released.

like Hobbes330i said, use the "nowarning" flag:
            "C:\Program Files\iNav\iGuidance.exe nowarning"

            -psyrex
            Gen 1: Pentium 3 1GHz - ATX - 2005
            Gen 2: Pentium M 1.6GHz - ITX - 2006
            Gen 3: Pentium M 2.0GHz - 5.25" SBC - 2007
            Gen 4: (coming soon: Core2 Duo - 3.5" SBC - 2009)
            ...it never ends

Um, this is going to sound really stupid, but how do I run a program using this flag? Where do I enter it in?

if you are using just windows you add the flag to a shortcut for the application. Rightclick the shortcut>properties>Target field = "C:\Program Files\iNav\iGuidance.exe" nowarning

using a button in RR the code for the button would be
                        RUN; "C:\Program Files\iNav\iGuidance.exe|nowarning"

using skinbedder, it uses autoIT to launch IG so you will have to edit the startup.au3 file found in the skinbedder dir (you will also need to install AutoIT3 to recompile the script to a .exe)
edit startup.au3 and edit the line
                        Run("C:\Program Files\iNav\iGuidance\iGuidance.exe nowarning", "C:\Program Files\iNav\iGuidance")
                        to look like above.

I may be being a bit thick here, but what should the entry look like when using RR Config utility. I have tried the above combinations, but the nag screen still pops up. Any ideas?

                          It works from Windows though.

                          Many thanks,

Cancel my last, i think i have done it.

In the RR Config program, it need to be in quotes, so the entry should be something like:

                            "C:\Program Files\iNav\iGuidance Europe\iGuidance.exe nowarning"

I do have this other annoyance though, any ideas why the Windows bar pops up when i click on the 3D button?

What could the possible causes be.

                              Cheers,
