  • Pink Transparency - How the hell does this work ?

I have set an area of a bmp file to pink / Magenta (FF00FF) or 255,000,255 and saved the file. I have removed enableclipping=false in rr.ini, but the screen when displayed shows the pink area !

Is their anywhere this "trick" is explained fully, or can anyone suggest what I am doing wrong ?

FE and RR n00b here, but maybe enableclipping=true instead of removing it?

try fastmode=0 also, this only works on NT based machines (2000/XP etc)

what file type are you saving the file as? i allways use .bmp for any image that has pink in it as the other formats will compress the image and the color wont be pure pink. Also, you use the image on the empty layer.

Yeah I saw the note to use BMP's, I will check that its on the empty skin, what about off, on and down ?

I just use .jpg in the off, on and down with no pink in them.

For this mini-skin, I am only using Empty and On, but using the MENU command to show the skin, is this the problem ? Both files are 24-bit BMP files.

likely, you should have a minimum of 3 images. empty with pink, off and on. You can use the same on image for down.

                    Thanks Smoke,

I have re-done the files to have
PList_Empty.BMP (for Empty & OFF) (Got pink bits FF00FF)
                    PList_Down.JPG
                    PList_On.JPG

The Pink still shows on the screen ! I take it that RR supports Gif files but not with transparency.

Are their any instructions on how to use Pink for transparent effect kicking around anywhere. I have had a search but can't find anything.

Nice going on VOID by the way I love the effect created, and some of the innovative Indicators
