  • Making my first skin, few questions...

First, I have never used photoshop before deciding to try skinning so please don't flame my skills, but constructive criticism is appreciated. I am trying to make just this XM skin, because it's just about all I use lately. I am trying to loosely match the Nissan radio style in my Titan for this. This screen shot was not taken in my car so all the XM stuff (like channell art and channells) isn't there.

Ok, I don't think I like the Arial font, what do you think? Any sugestions in that respect?

Lastly, I am hoping to get the small number OSK I made work to directly tune channels. However, when I click the "ENTER" key, it goes back to the main menu. Have I programmed something wrong or is this just not possible to have an OSK built into another skin? Thanks in advance.

yeah you may want to put the osk on its own screen and use the MENU command to load the osk like a pop up onto of the screen. When you click ENTER its prob activateing the last focused RR button.

Cool, so as far as you know there wouldn't be any way to have the OSK part of the screen without a popup? I'de really like to be able to have that functionality part of the skin itself similar to a stand alone XM unit. If not, oh well, I will have to go the old route. Also, I have made a few changes in some colors and placement of stuff. I now have some empty real estate that needs to be filled and I still havent decided on a new font. Here's a screen of the minor changes I made. Any suggestions LS? thanks.

Ive never personally tried to put an osk on the same screen (allways use it as a popup) but from your description this seems like the most likely issue your having.

Its also safer to have the osk on its own screen, that way you can make the buttons a lot bigger and easier to touch.
You may be also better off using presets also, you can have a bunch of them with the extra space you have now.
