  • Cover Ast Browser - Mashup of RR and iTunes CoverFlow

I've been playing with an idea I like in iTunes, the album cover art browser. I don't know how well it would work in a CarPC setup. The screenshot below uses some Flash to imitate CoverFlow, but it does not work perfectly (text style or click to play). I've embedded it in the Astro skin just to illustrate.

That looks really Nice! Would be nice, if you could get the click album to work. Say click the cover, and the song list comes up.

that would be awesome if you could get a flash version of the itunes album art working. The aspect ratio of the albums on the left and right may be a bit too extreeme though.
i spent like an hour just flipping through my music lib when i first tried it out.
How is the speed with the flash version?

using the pic above as an example, if you were to click on the Outkast album, it would animate to the position of the All Saints album and also put your focus on that albums files ready to be played.
In itunes it also has a slider at the bottom that you can drag that will flip through all your album art like a deck of cards. Very cool when you see it in action.
Just download itunes and try it out yourself. I dont use itunes either at all, but for some odd reason i allways keep it up to date just to see what apple is up to.

              lol, if you only knew.
I actually keep quite a few applications up to date that i never ever use for anything, just to see what its like on the other side of the fence. I get ideas about stuff or may see something i like that i want in another app. Im also very into ui design so i always look at how others lay there apps out and try to think of a better way they could of did it.

                        I just found this:

                        http://www.quietlyscheming.com/blog/...elf-component/

It is a flash clone of the cover flow interface, the source code is posted there.

                          this one is great
                          http://www.n99creations.com/vieweg.php?id=5
its almost the same as itunes and uses an xml database

as the link that i posted earlier- I failed to contact the creator i thought sense it works with winamp that it would be easier for a car pc implant then flash coding which i don't know much about

Pity there's no .Fla guru's on here, that last one is open source and looks amazing.
Really wish CdR used Flash instead of Swish.
