  • 1.0.8.1 buton highlight issues

After installing the 1.0.8.1 update, I have noticed two display issues:
    • The highlight for buttons is corrupted on some screens, as in the screen shots below. I have tried deleting and recreating the buttons in the Dev env., but oddly, this sometimes causes the highlight error to occur on another button-
    • The text "Music" in the heading of the Music module is corrupted. This occurs in all screens where the text element is displayed. Changing fonts in the Dev. Env. doesn't fix the problem...the font is larger or smaller, but still appears corrupt.

    Pics
    • Shot1: Displays normal highlighting on the radio button, but there is a strange white line around the adjacent button.
    • Shot2: Corrupt highlighting on the music button.
    • Shot3: Corrupt text in the music module.
    • Shot4:Corrupt highlighting for the lefthand column of buttons. The highlighting for all buttons in this column are corrupt, whiile the righthand column displays normally.
    • Shot5: Righthand column with normal highlighting.

I didn't post this as a bug report, because I haven't seen any other mentions of similar errors, so I thought it might be limited to my install.

Does it still do it when you change to static background?

Don't know...will try and report back. Why do you ask?

I'm experiencing the same exact problem too on my Compaq Evo Notebook n620c.

        ATI Mobility Radeon 7500 - AGP 4x
        DDR SDRAM - 32 MB

I used this same system with the previous release of SD without any graphics issues.

Turning static background "on" solves the problem with both the corrupted button highlight and corrupted text.

I am am using a Radeon 7000 series PCI card (latest drivers from the ATI website), and I noticed knyarko is as well....perhaps that's the issue.

OK, I'll give parksgm's suggestion a try. I wonder what it is about the Radeon 7000 series graphics cards (or drivers).

I haven't played around with the settings in SD too much so I will assume that the static background option is a part of one of the settings menus. I'll play around with it when get off work today.

It's an checkbox under Settings --> Adjust Application Appearance

Good luck, and report back...I don't know that it is the Radeon, just a hunch given that we both use those cards and there are no other reports of similar issues (yet).

Sure enough, everything looks fine now (with the static background option checked).

I'm still not completely sure what the background is supposed to look like with the static background option off. I thought maybe I would see the visualization as the background, but rather all I see is blue.

Oh well, I'll stick with the static background since everything looks good with this option.

                  Thanks parksgm.

If you set the main and background colors to contrasting colors (like red and blue, for instance), then the "motion" background shows up pretty well.

Glad the solution worked...but in all fairness, someone else above told me to do it, so I'll pass the thanks along...
