  • How do I force a dialog box to display an error code?

    Just need to be pointed in the right direction. We made a few digital modules that are helpful for our company's tax purposes that keep track of business versus personal miles (and actual gas/vehicle costs). (pretty cool dev environment - hats off to the team!)

    For grins I interfaced to the iBus (on my BMW 850) and had our developer build a little module that displays and sends codes to the iBus. I have an issue that when the VGA screen extends out it covers up the car "computer" display.

    My question: If I'm always monitoring the iBus and an error code is sent how can I force a pop-up, screen-change (or similar) to display the error code no matter what other module is currently active?

    Thanks,
    Paul

    Overlays are always active. If you make an overlay that monitors the iBus, you can then display an error message directly on that overlay or display just use the msgbox method of the overlay to display teh message box.

      Thanks Chuck.

      After I left the post we did get the msgBox to pop up.

      Is there any way to force a page/module change?

        Just call the Exec command with the name of the module you want to change to i.e. Exec("CStartModule");
