    Right! I'm on it....

Just downloaded the beta. I've been playing with Centrafuse but am not over-impressed with Destinator (I'm ex tom-tom, and I'm only ex tom-tom because my PDA died!).

I'm on my way to getting a version of Mappoint Europe 2004 (annoyingly, I've got S&T 2006!).

If everything goes to plan, I'll be putting this beta through its paces by doing a 500 Mile Manchester - London - Southampton - Manchester run this weekend.

    Fingers crossed.

Will try it with MapPoint French tonite

      Hi.

      I'm living in Switzerland.
Will give it a try tonight with MP French Edition - might be a hard time for it with our curved sloping roads

"This demo has expired. Please visit..."
2nd time of running the program.

And holybob, the program is time limited to 15mins, so unless you can drive very quickly, it's not going to last the whole journey

No, it should just work if you have mappoint installed. If you get this error send your system logs to chuck@mp3car.com

Same here, and I haven't done anything mentioned in the other thread linked.

Also, how are we supposed to beta test software in 15 minutes? Wouldn't it be better to timebomb after a week or something?

Tried another time on the comp where SD has never been installed before:

runs 1st time - displays "0 days left..." and red "Mute" overlay.
runs 2d time - asks for registration and quits after pressing "Cancel"

I'll send log file to chuck...

Is this true? I'm seriously looking for something to replace my TomTom. I've got about 12 hours of driving to do this weekend so could give it a serious test. I'm not going to be able to do that in 15 minute periods (can you imagine explaining to PC Plod that you weren't watching the road because your PC was rebooting?!) so I'll have to carry on with my trial of Centrafuse. Which lasts 30 days by the way.

Is there any way increase the 15 mins time limit? It seem FAR too restrictive for people to be able to satisfactoralily (how do you spell that?) test the software.

Can I buy it, get a key, and then get a refund if I don't like it? Or if I give enough comments worthy of the aforementioned free key?

Well at this point, I wouldn't rely on StreetDeck for navigation in Europe, the BETA has had zero real world testing done on it in roads in Europe and I don't know how it will work yet.

If 15 minutes is not enough, you can just restart after the timeout. Its annoying, but StreetDeck will save your route and other state information so you'll resume where you left off. Once I get some real world feedback and GPS recordings, I can start giving out license codes.
