  • Shelby Cobra Skin :) (work in progress)

This is just an idea... I'm not a big FORD fan, but desided to play around with SDK.

Volume bars will light up right on the snake...

I need to figure out how to change the shape of the FOCUS light. I haven't had time to do so.

I like. Are you planning on having the highlight colors still blue or are you going to change those up? If you change them up I would suggest a red since it looks like the Cobra has a little red reflection at its base and neck. Just a thought. nice job, keep it up!

Probably red, I need to change it into diamond shape also. I think it will be also cool to have a tounge come with volume controls on it instead of the usual "Vol" side slider bar.

"?" and "power off" buttons are gonna look like snakes eggs.

I recognize some an icon or two - nice work...These things take forever to create - especially if you are going to modify the core buttons...good luck on your sleepless nights What is the IE icon?

I have temporarily given up on my weeknight ventures...I end up late for work...

I'm gonna change out most of the icons. I was just getting familiar with the SDK.

I'll have some serious graphics, once I buy the full version.

I have seen some serious graphics out there I like, but since I am only a Photoshop person, creating them myself would be impossible.... It seems like the true genius's behind stunning dimensional graphics typically use 3d rendering programs...being a programmer, that's a little beyond me. I had a brief encounter with 3d studio max once and that was a little much...

This is actually the main driving force that has slowed my progress...trying to find a technique that I can do that I actually like.

I also wonder with skinning how much we can go to other sources to gather third party images without stepping on copyright laws.... up until now most of my work (if not all) has been done custom, so I am not worried about it, but moving forward, I think I will need to get some permissions from authors...

You don't need "permissions", unless you go commerical with your skins... And if you do I highly doubt that you'll end up violating anything anyways.

Hmmm. I never thought of using 3D max, viz, or maya for this. I might have to experiment with something. I render with a couple different programs, so what were you thinking? You got some links or ideas?

These style icons in a semi-large icon - we could reduce the number of icons by categorizing the list and making secondary pages (i.e. video would go to a new page to select dvd and video, etc). This would make the interface look cleaner and show off the icon work at the same time. This is way out of my scope though...

Basically, I like all the work by D. Arnaez (second link)... If you look through his icon sets on wincustomize, he has done some interesting work... I sent Dario an e-mail to see if I can get anymore info on this style of icon creation.
