  • Audi S4 Skin

Hey All..spent some time figuring out the skin editor, etc. and came up with the following. I started with the BMW skin, so thanks to whoever came up with that ;-) ...

Not quite all the way done yet and fairly basic. let me know what you think and if you'd like me to post somewhere for download when ready. I have no issue with posting the psd's either, so if someone like's Audi's, but not S4's, you could still use a lot of this.

    Thanks,

I'd recommend putting a blurring layer or some kinda layer over S4 and date (in the middle, first ring..) when there a other menu's on top, so it wouldn't get mixed up (white color lettering) with it. I hope you get an idea on what I'm trying to explain... This should be taken into consideration for any skins, I think.

so, on the main menu, i like how the center S4 logo and time/date show...you're saying to do something above that for the other screens so it doesn't interfere with type that will land above it...how do i do that? can i do that universally while still preserving the current look on the startup module or do i have to go to each of the other screens and do something there?

      thanks for the help...

The easiest way I can think of to do that would be to make your background so it looks good for all the other screens with the center blurred. Then on the start screen, you cut out a small area of the background in photoshop and create a completely opaque image from it that covers up the blurred area and blends in with the background. Then in streetdeck make a new image panel in the start module and place it over the blurred background area.

figured it out...created a new button class which created the pictures for it, then just replaced the pictures with the sharp (in focus) version. let me know if there's a better way.

            thanks again!

Also if you drag and drop any PNG file onto StreetDeck, it should copy the image into the skin directory then create a new image panel for it.

GOC, it does, and that is interesting, because if you copy a file into the skin directory without restarting the skin and try to put it in the skin it crashes, but from a foreign directory, it does what it is supposed to.
