  • webcam dvr

    Hello

Ok here's the think, I have 2 webcams set up in my car. I don't want to be recording all the time. That takes up a lot of hdd space. So is there a program that will let me rewind live webcam and record?

Another note. I need to program to record audio too.

And if there isn't a webcam dvr like program could it be done with a script? Like the last 5min are in tmp and anything older moved to null? But then I would need another script to save the tmp video/audio

    Any ideas?

Iv only been able to find programs that record when you hit a button, increasing the buffer could allow for the 5 min you want but that would tie up alot of resources. Let me know if you find something good

If I recall correctly, Capture will delete old footage automatically.

There's a guy in the OpenICE forums working on a dvr: http://forums.openice.org/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=596

I've tried it out. it works pretty good.

There is a Android app named "Dailyroads Voyager" that works as an DVR on my phone. It deletes older recorded videos when the app reaches the quota that I setup.

Maybe an Android Emulator on PC will work?

Ok if I do that I would need a video4lin driver for that cam and that's hoping that the app sees the cam since you can't tell it were to look and there's no .config to tweek. But really if the google nav worked with an mouse gps then I would be running an x84 of android.
Maybe I will try mini cam in wine...
