  • For anyone using an ATI Radeon 7000 PCI!

    At least on a VIA MII-12000 motherboard, you need to specify:

    option "ForcePCIMode" "on"

    in your XF86Config or xorg.conf file or X will randomly hang when DRI is enabled.

    It's a pretty good guess the problem is related to the fact that the MII-12000 doesn't even have an AGP bus
    Silverwolf 2 is dead.
    Silverwolf 3...?

      I should suffix that with the problem only showed up after using the stock SuSE 9.3 radeon driver from the 2.6.11.whatever kernel.
      Silverwolf 2 is dead.
      Silverwolf 3...?
