  • Mac Pac "Y" cable

Ok, so with the new alternative Y cable, all you have to do is hook up the y cable to the motherboard, then the other side to the Mac Pac ACPI. So now, there isnt a place to hook up the power button wire. So whats the point of the y cable if its not splitting anything?

Dude, I experienced the same frustration. I figured somebody in the supply chain f$%kedup and they ended up with 15000 pieces of the wrong part. It would be really hard to know without the mother board sitting right in front of you. I ended just doing something similar to bugbyte: I connected the cable to two dots of solder on the outside of the case and I use two short springs in a docking cradle to provide the connections to the isense (I think that's what it's called -- the wire that turns in the mini on and off) and the button still works as usual.

I got the alt cable with mine but I mailed my supplier, he spoke to mike at Carnetix and I had the proper cable within a week or so.
