  • Trying to figure jumper settings on CarNetix CNX-P2140

    Hi,

I am trying to figure out the jumper settings on a new CarNetix CNX-P2140, with mac mini (intel). I've read the instruction manual a few times. Now sure where to set a couple of the jumpers:

    JP1 - Primary Output +20V ? is this correct?
JP2 - Secondary Output +12V? (using lilliput monitor)
    JP3 - Pins 1-2 Pulse start ? no idea
    JP4 - ? no idea
JP5 - Set for Mac mini
    JP6 - ? no idea

So, I am mostly unsure where to set JP1, JP3, JP4, JP6. Any help or direction appreciated.

    Thanks,

    elias

This is a two parter, I think the second part shows you how to set the jumpers.

Thanks for the link. However, the video is showing how to solder wires. What I'm looking for are the correct settings running a mac mini and lilliput monitor.

      Thanks,

        JP1 - +20V is wrong, +18.5V is correct.
JP2 - +12V should be correct for a monitor but check the monitor manual to confirm.
        JP3 - Leave these alone unless you have a P5V add-on board.
JP4 - Should be set to what's referred to as 'Config 2' in the manual. This give +18.5V primary power with +12V secondary power.
JP5 - Depends which mac mini you have the newer ones are the Intel CPU models.
        JP6 - Leave it alone.

I can't guarantee that these are the correct settings, proceed at your own risk, etc.

I am so stupid. How long have I been on this forum and running a Mac?

I've been struggling to get my Mac to start up with the 2140. Thanks for reminding me of the iSense pin outs and of course, RTFM. Except when you're in a rush and would rather search the net and spend twice as much time as if you read it in the first place.

Thanks Machinehead. The succinct list of the jumper settings was what I needed.

Hopefully the settings I posted are correct, it's been over a year since I've had to open up my P2140.
