  • lilliput instal

    Hi,

we are having some problems with the install of a 7" lilliput on a 17" PB with OS 10.4.1
For now, the monitor is connected, and systemprefs see it as a second monitor, wich is good. But everything we do on the touchscreen is displayed on the powerbook instead of the lilliput. Also it is not possible to do a calibration.

    Can anybody help us out?

    Just to confirm...
    - mirroring is on
    - you see the same thing on the 7" as the PB
    - you tap on the 7", but the results only show up on the PB

If you use the cursor to pull down a menu item on the PB screen, does the same show up on the 7" screen?

Sounds like it's working properly. The system sees the touch screen as a mouse. It doesn't know that the touchscreen overlays your Lilliput. It thinks that it starts at the upper left of the main screen.

I think you'll need to mirror the two screens, then it will work.

first of all, the powerbook sees the liliput indepentently from the touchscreen, for the computer both have nothing to do with each other.

the touchscreen works like a trackpad, if it is attached on a liliput-tft or not! if the "mouse" is on the first screen, you control it there, you have to move it to the second screen, as you do at home with the extended desktop, but with the touchscreen, uhm, i have no ides, but using the trackpad or mouse should work to "push" the mouse on the other monitor...

..i wonder, err, uhm. well, let's see...

when you want to use both screens mirrored, everything is ok. but not-mirrored, you have to set the liliput as premier screen, sliding in the monitor-prefs the apple-bar to the added monitor, so the internal 17" is just secondary screen. so the "mouse" starts up on the right monitor... or you set both monitors, the 17" and the 7" to "mirrored", but beware of the resolution and hertz-freq to not mess up with the lili.

        enjoy
        RTFM!

Are you guys having problems having problems with resolutions? With the 7" version being a nonstandard resolution (800x480) or am I better off using the 8" one which is 800x600 and what software are you using as a frontend, I've been trying out the C-Car Project on my Powerbook G4 (which I'll probably use as the Carputer).

          Thanks

Edit: I liked the C-Car Project interface but the resolution that appears to be supported is 800x480, am I going to be facing any problems?
