  • Looking for some help...

I know I know, you probably have threads like this all the time, but all I am asking is for a little advice to get me started.
I want to put a carputer based around an Intel Mac Mini in my 2005 Accord Sedan (No factory Nav).
I want it for Nav, music, possibly XM, and if possible, bluetooth handsfree phone.
I'll probably pick up a refurbed Mini from Apples Website (base Core Solo model). If I do the XM, I see that ebay has plenty of the XM PCR's, so no problem there. Still researching GPS solutions, but more on that later.
    Main questions:
    1) Do Xenarc touchscreen monitors work well/have drivers for the Intel Mini?
    2) Is there a current solution out there that will allow me to interface my Blackberry 8700g with an Intel Mac? What I mean is, for phone integration and also for internet connectivity (using the Blackberry as a wireless modem).
    3) Is there a made for mac PSU that will shutdown the Mini when power is lost and power it backup when its restored?
    4) Is there a way to integrate the GPS into Front Row? Or has anyone done that yet?

I'm sorry if I'm annoying, I just want to make sure I get the proper items for this project as there is so much info on this site, I am pretty much confused right now.
    Thanks for any help.

BTW, has anyone put a carputer in an 03+ Accord here?

    1. Yes. The Intel touchscreen drivers can be found here: http://www.egalax.com/eg/drivers.htm#intel
    2. Yes. The software is called BluePhoneElite and can be found here: http://www.reelintelligence.com/BluePhoneElite
    3. Yes. The PSU is called the Carnetix P1900 and can be found here: http://www.carnetix.com/CNXP1900.htm
    4. No. Not that I know of, but people are doing crazy stuff with the front ends right now so keep posted.

        Refer to this post: http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=82226

The new beta version allows you to use any mic that you have connected to your mac.

Click the link in my signature and go to the FAQ to the FAQ's. There is a thread in there about installing a Mac Mini.

Check also the sticky at the beginning of this forum with links to Mac car computing resources.

Search if you have a question. If it is Mac specific, limit the search to this forum. If not, search the whole forum.

Look in the FAQ Emporium for tons of useful information.
