  • No immediate need for a frontend

If you have a jailbroken iPad running 4.3+ there is no immediate need for a frontend. You can install a couple things from cydia and do a small tweak mentioned later in this post to have most of the functionality that we are all wanting in a frontend. First of all pluggedin will allow the iPad to unlock and lock when power is applied and removed. It will also play and pause media but I use activator to do this because plugged in had a few glitches when doing this. I also use screendimmer to automatically dim the screen after 10 seconds and turn off the backlight after 20 seconds.

To get the new 4 finger multitouch gesture for switching between the running apps all you have to do is insert this with plist-editor or ifile:

    into in /var/mobile/Library/Preferences.
    Dont forget to reboot.

Then all you need to do is open the apps that you want to use and use four finger swipes left and right across the screen to switch between them.
