  • MediaRunner v0.01 BETA DevBuild

2/19/04 - Using Microsoft Tablet SDK, the GPS now has handwritting reconization.

2/5/04 - What do you think of this front page?

2/3/04 - Upto version 0.03, adding some logging and the mp3 area is working better. If it crashes on you can you please email any screenshots/log files that it generates. Thanks for all the help. Also a heads up, this is pre-beta, I have distributing the development builds which will have bugs in them

    thanks

    Project name: MediaRunner
    Latest version: v0.03
OS Supported: developing and tested on XP
    Project Type: open source (GNU)
Supported functions Phase 1: MapPoint, MP3 Player (internal, WinAmp, or WMP9), Video (divx/DVD) (internal most likely aka DirectShow)
Supported function Phase 2: Camera (webcam), Games (for passenger), calculator, scibble (a notepad without needing a keyboard)
    Skins: your choice
    language: C#

    Currently working:
    - mainscreen/music is fully skinnable with the ability to put the icons anyplace,
    - mp3player (winamp) is almost done, need some testing
    - Video is 90% done, needs some testing. But you can search and play videos
    - MapPoint is half done, you can search and find a location. Need to activate the GPS
    - Security is 90% done, need some testing. It allows you to have a usb keydrive that will activate the program or disable it if unplugged.
    - File Sync, not completed. Will sync your mp3 with your home server most likely using tftp and windows authenication. The home server will need to run the tftp server either on the console or as a NT service.
    - apps not completed

Dont forget the modify the MediaRunner.exe.config to meet your needs, the readme.txt tells you more.

I would love to find out people reactions to the program. It is a work in process, and I am going to work on the performance issue.

Sorry three issues came up, first my primary DNS server needed to restarted, I messed up on the link name, and third I have a permission issue on the source.

I fixed the first two and will fix the permissions when I get home. But you can get the binaries.

Problems with Map Point 2004, and I keep getting this error
" Application has generated an exception that could not be handled.
            Process id=0xa40 (2624), Thread id=0x30c (780).
Click OK to terminate the application.
Click CANCEL to debug the application."

            Just a little FYI

Seems like people are having trouble running it. Lets see, I think mappoint maybe required (will change of course). Also if it is installed and you are still getting the error, Where do you have it installed? c:\program files\mappoint....

                  thanks

                  sorry from the problems
