ok. here she is... flog it to death and let me know if it dies.

It only needs the VB6 runtime libraries and WMP installed.

Windows Media Player 8 works, although you can't nick off the Vis... (Click the VIS button). Version 9 works properly.

Thanks go to Froddo for the idea, and leenas for the majority of his work on the skin.

EDIT 25-05-2004: New version uploaded. v0.1.0.17. It's fixed up the gap between songs (Thanks froddo ), and it now resumes playback from the same song it left off from. You can also now look at the commented settings.dat file (use notepad). Be sure you know what you're changing though, as there's very little testing for sane values so far.

Nice and small thing. Just wondering why it is taking 15Mb ?
              Some comments also:
              1. Real _huge_ gap between songs
              2. A lots of space on a screen wasted for no particular reason
I like 65K exe file anyway...

                    1) Yeah... I'm looking for a work-around... the Windows Media Player control is braindead when handling the end of stream event (ie it never fires) so it's hard to even detect the end of the current song. The workaround is dodgy. I'm looking at various ways to make it gapless (or at most under a second).

                    2) for future expansion - remember, this is only 3 days work

EDIT: Oh, and it takes 15Mb ram because of all the WMP & VB overhead. WMP is a ram hungry beast :P

I was going to try using an mp3 decoder in a standalone DLL, however that means things will be much harder to implement... however I'm not ruling this out yet - as I have to get gapless playback somehow

ok. There's bugger all that happens code wise to crash when you do this... Check your WMP version, and update to 9.x

worked fine for me, couldn't find the source though

Let me know what you need for CVS, its pretty easy to get setup.
