  • I've searched a ton. Help me find that program that blacks out the screen

I remember about a month or so ago someone posted a link to software that you could press a key and have the entire screen black out til you press that key again. I could really use that ( not for my carputer, for my laptop at work) Anyone remember what it was called or have a link?

Well you could just make a shortcut to scrnsave.scr in the c:\windows\system32 directory (assuming you're runnning WinXP)...Each version of Windows usually has a blank screen saver...could then make it password protected when the mouse is moved using the screensaver setting under Display properties... Not exactly what you want, but it's an easy way to do it.

most laptops have a function key sequence to shift video paths.. LCD, Ext VGA, both...
if you shift to VGA (ext) the LCD will likely blank.

more like a "client key" but yea you get the idea. The bills software makes me set the option each time i open the program. Thanks though.

Have a look at Wizmo from grc.com. Setup a shortcut key.

                    C!
(Third time I've mentioned wizmo now!)
