  • Soundcard driver question

I have a question regarding the Mad Dog Entertainer ENVY24HT-S Soundcard

Is there currently a way to automatically switch between the S/PDIF input and the other channels without having to use the 'control panel' of the sound card?

The reason I ask is I have a computer built into my car and use the normal outputs for MP3 listening. When I switch over to my XM unit, I use the S/PDIF input through a TOS cable. I really need something that will detect the S/PDIF signal and switch over to the Digital In for me on the fly. Being in the car it is very unsafe to look down to the touch screen and work through the control panel.

Would a hack to the driver be able to accomplish this? Is there a way to do it now?

hmmm try it... its hard to say what all they reference in the drivers... but worst comes to worst you can always boot into last known good config.. or just roll back the driver on the soundcard...

I am assuming you are using XP

Yeah, I just have no experience modifying a driver. Any tips?
