    More information, please.
What is your primary boot device? CDROM? HDD? CF card?
Is the PC in your car? On your desk?
What sort of power supply is it using?

Really, man. This is like me asking for help because my engine is making a funny noise.

It reminds me of when I did phone support for Earthlink. Every call started with "I can't get my email". Never mind that some of these people had dead hard drives, a problem more serious than inability to access email. But that's the only symptom they see.

We can't help you without details, man.
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
    How about the Wiki?

Sounds like hard drive or hard drive controller failure to me.

I have a desktop that has a ton of drives, and bios probes all the hard drives and cd/dvd burners, which slows it down.

Raid controllers slow it down as well. If you have a raid card, or have onboard raid, disable it if you're not using it, because it'll slow things down dramatically.

Some drives also degrade over time quite a bit, and when they power on and bios probes them, they are in the middle of a drive head sync, so bios has to wait while it does that before it says "I'm here."

Try with another hard drive (if you have one).
