  • Soundblaster 16 loading

    here is my autoexec.bat

    EMSDSK 1024 E: /C1 /Y
    SET BLASTER=A220 I5 D1 H5 P330 T6
    SET SOUND=A:\SB16
    a:\SB16\SB16SET /M:255 /VOC:255 /CD:0 /MIDI:0 /LINE:0
    a:\SB16\SBCONFIG.EXE /S
    a:\MSCDEX.EXE /D:GSCDROM
    C:
    dir/s *.mp3 /s /on /b > E:\playlist.m3u
    a:\mpxplay -ini -f E:\playlist.m3u

I can remove the volume settings and sbconfig.exe correct? If LINE IN is not 0 does it pick up static and feed it out? The only signal I need is line out and am trying to get the fastest boot possible.
    Thanks
    Alex

Not sure about the SB16 settings, but I was curious why you are loading from a floppy if you are concerned about boot times. Booting from the hard drive would be MUCH quicker, plus the system files don't take up much space. Also, I've found floppies to be prone to failure, and are not well suited to in-car environments. If the floppy fails, you're player goes down until you can make a new one.

Actually I am booting from a cd using floppy emulation, (I am poor and don't have a spare hard drive)
