  • good mp3 creator

ok does anyone know what a good program is to use for taking songs off of cds and putting them onto the computer as mp3's because i really want to put my whole cd collection onto my computer even though i know it won't all fit i could atleast turn them into mp3's and put those on a cd to hold a hundred songs rather than 12 like a reguler cd. thanks a lot in advance for your suggestions

I used Musicmatch, which I believe is available at musicmatch.com. I copied my entire 500 cd collection onto a 27 gig harddrive and used Musicmatch. The basic verision of Musicmatch is free, but you can't record MP3s at CD quality (128kbps). To record at CD quality, which you should, you need to pay a registration fee of $30.

Real Jukebox is another good program, but most reviews I have read give Musicmatch the edge.

I would suggest Xing's Audio Catalyst. You can download a working demo from their web site (www.xingtech.com)

The new MusicMatch Jukebox allows you to record at 128. They still offer an upgraded version that speeds up the CD ripping process, but it only takes a few minutes now. I would'nt bother with the added cost just to save a few minutes. The new program has one or two minor bugs but i've used it for a month now with no problemo!
