I checked this with the Microsoft specialist in our departement. He says it is not possible. Too bad...

I disagree. I think it would work. x86 is definately a WinCE supported processor, and I have seen WinCE running on a PC driving an ATI Rage Pro at work. Specifically what is there to stop it working - a PC is just a computer after all.

One problem might be the software. Will any of the Windows players run under WinCE (specifically Winamp). If you can't run a Windows player, then there wouldn't be any advantage to using WinCE over DOS or Linux.

Also, are soundcards supported under it?

Well, the thing about software is, you can write it. And once you've written it, all your devices and applications are supported...! :-)

My point was that WinCE would run on an x86 device, not that you could do anything useful with it once you were there.
