  • 40x4 LCD w/ MPXF help!!

    my 40x4 LCD (from eio.com) works great in Windows with various Winamp plugins, but i stinkin CANNOT get the sucker to work in DOS, with either Mpxplay or MPXF (latest versions). i am going knutz!

    at MPXF startup, the LCD outputs a faint resemblance of the "MPXF" logo, but it is very garbled up, also the logo is displayed TWICE, once on the middle of the first 2 lines, then in the middle of the last 2 lines.. on the MPXF menu, the words are broken up and are pushed to the ends of the screen. many letters are doubled also.. like "menu" is displayed as "mmeennuu"...

    here are some settings i have for MPXF:
    (in mpxflcd.cfg)

    LCD=LPTLCD
    LCDLines=4
    LCDLength=40

    [LPTLCD]
    LCDType=1
    LPTPort=888
    ControlDelay=9500 ;(i've tried higher and lower...)
    CharDelay=9500 ;(same here)

    RS_Pin=16
    RW_Pin=14
    Enable_Pin=1
    Enable_Pin2=17
    4bit=False

    Line1Offset=0
    Line2Offset=64
    Line3Offset=0
    Line4Offset=64

    - - - -
    i've tried various LPT bios settings, including ECP, EPP, extended, compatible...
    i've also tried both 378H and 278H LPT modes...

    am i missing something??? anything!!?

    this iz extremely frustrating, cuz like i said, it works fine in Winamp, but i cannot get it in MPXF.

    heLp!
