  • software to read/write to 8 DS1621s

    I need software to read 8 DS1621s.

If you find it online I'll give you a cookie.

If you write it for me I'll build you a board with connections for 8 sensors and specified wire lengths.

I also need it to be able to write the Talarm value

and also work in WinXP Pro.

My bad, I assumed you knew a little about electronics. I can let you know how to add the remaining six if you like.

Hint: The DS1621's use a two wire interface for communications (SDA, SCL). You'll notice from the schematic that these are common to both U1 and U2. Secondly to distinguish between each device attached to these to lines an address is passed when communicating. This address is set by the pin A0, A1 and A2 on the DS1621's from the circuit U1 has A0,A1 and A2 tied like, in binary with A2 being most significant yields 000 (0 in decimal). U2 has A0 tied high with A1 and A2 tied low, in binary this is 001 (1 in decimal). Below is how the rest of the six devices.

          A2 A1 A0 Sensor No

I think that should help you out ...

I know how to wire it, I don't know how to have the software read it!

Ahhh I see ... I could modify the software for you to read all 8 DS1621's ...

              ... you got PM.
