  • Satnav volume?

Had a search through the site but still unable to find out/work out how to turn down the music (Playing MP3's) but still keep the satnav voice at the set volume.

Anyone help or point me in the right direction as its doing my head in changing settings and not making sense what they 'should' be adjusting.

    Any help would be great

this is a much talked about topic, your search results should have pointed you to a few of them.
Currently i dont think any of the frontends lower the volume when your nav speaks, i think there may be only one solution thats out but only works with destinator based gps, but i may be wrong about this.

IF all you want to do is set the volume of your mp3/music to lower than the gps volume and you are using winamp based frontend, all you have to do is set winamps volume lower than the gps and leave the master volume and wave volume higher.

It would help if you said what frontend you are using and what GPS software you are using also, so more help can be given.

I am using frodoplayer and destinator 1.1.3

I have set the winampos volume lower and that is loads better.

Shame you cant set the sat nav volume to a set volume (Like on trafficv info on normal cars headunits) so no matter what volume the music/video etc etc is playing the sat nav directions are at a pre set volume

In Mapmonkey config you can set it to pause frodoplayer while the voice prompts are spoken...

Yea we tried that but the directions vary from a short phrase to a long phrase (Like: 3rd exit at rondabout)

Its looking like its just the way the program is (which is a shame as its a great program).

          Thanks for the suggestions

Yea, I have Roadrunner so I mute the volume of winamp to a lower level for about 6 seconds iirc. As it's not muted completely or paused then it doesn't matter if the announcment is shorter as I can still hear the music but it's low enough to enable the directions to be heard.

I haven't tried frodoplayer so I don't know if there is another way round it...
