  • VB.net 2005 help needed PLEASE!

I have started writing my own front-end with VB.net 2005 and am stuck with a couple of things.

    1. Please can someone tell me if there is a way to load another application (using SHELL.........) into a particular part of my form, in a sort of frame.

    2. I want to be able to play DVD's on my system, but can't find anywhere where there is a VB 2005 sample code for this. I have downloaded the WMP9 SDK, WMP10 SDK and the DirectX SDK. All the samples are in C++ and C# and I don't seem to be able to get these to work anyway. Surely you just have to declare some dll files and then call functions from those files!!!

Please help, I have been looking for days and days .

    Thanks very much

    Embedding in a VB app - http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=68714

WMP10 SDK has a VB example on how to interface with the media player control via VB. Once you get that working, look at the Microsoft object reference to figure out the specific DVD commands. Here's the link to the WMP11 SDK DVD stuff - http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa387059.aspx

btw, if you wanna launch an app, create a fxn that launches the app you want, and use the command to launch a new thread, that uses the fxn u wrote to launch the app.
