  • windows shutdown script

    Hi all,

I was wondering if anybody here knows of a way to make windows execute a script/executable when windows shuts down?
I'm gonna use Jeff's shudown controller, which emulates pushing the power button, telling windows to shutdown. Before windows shutsdown, I'd like my app to save which track it's playing, how long it's been playing this track & shutdown my amps and ****...

anybody know how to do this?

    thanks!

    easy...
build a windows program that starts when the computer starts (it requires a hidden window). When windows stops, it will ask all programs to shutdown (with a WM_QUIT message). When your program receives this message, it can do whatever it needs to.
this can be written in C/VB or anything that is good enough.
I don't need no stinkin' startup-shutdown controller... That's what journalized filesystems are for...

yes, you can do that...but y not issue a simple Hibernate command and be done with it. Since u want to save ur current track and what not and then resume where u left off.

because for some stupid reason hibernate takes way way longer than a "normal" boot... (only 96Mb memory)
