  • Transparent Label's

ANyone notice that transparent labels in VB.net (a bunch of them) take a bit to load especially on the VIA Epia boards??
Progress [I will seriously never be done!]
    Via EPIA MII
    512MB RAM
    OEM GPS (embedded)
    nLite WinXP pro on
    1GB Extreme III CF card
    Carnetix 1260 startup/ DC-DC regulator
Software: Still, re-Writing my existing front end in .Net

Well I think that depends on your memory size and CPU speed.
.NET uses GDI+ (wich is very slow) for drawing controls and a transparent control takes more resources to draw (you don't notice this with one or two labesl, but when the size increses this becomes noticable).

I have a pretty decent development machine and your right after a a few trans. labels on a machine there's a bit of a lag when the app loads.

Perhaps you can use a lighter-weight toolkit?

Transparent labels take more ressources to draw, even in delphi 7.
