  • Trying to boot vhd's from grub! Almost there!!!!

    I am trying to boot two separate vhd's from grub in order to have recovery options for XP and Windows 7 as bootable recovery menu options on my carpc. Here is my updated menu.1st file....

    Grub won't boot iso's but will boot vhd's. I had to create the vhd's using the disk management tool in Windows 7. Both are fixed size vhd's since grub only supports these type virtual hard drives. I made a 50mb one for XP's recovery console cd and a 190mb one for the Windows 7 Recovery Disc. then I copied the content of the CD's to their respective vhd. I then saved both vhd's to the root folder of my Ubuntu installation. I was able to get both working in Windows 7 using EasyBCD, so I know they were made correctly. However, when I run them from the grub bootloader, I get the message that the file is not found from both menu options when I try to boot from them. Can someone take a look at my menu.1st and tell me what I'm missing here?

    UPDATE: going to try this and see if it works...
