  • Still wrong address...

    Hi CDR,

I was doing some more testing today with the latest freedrive.exe patch and here is my finding... it appears some addresses are still navigating wrong...

    Trying to navigate to:

    City: S. Paulo
    Street: Escocia R
    House: 253

wants to take me to: 286 Escocia R

    Street: Cristovao Diniz R
    House: 21

    takes me to: C Tv

Ohhhh... I thought this was over :'(

Yeah, also thought I fixed this.. I might of reverted back to a old version of FD source after trying a few things.. dont enter a house number for now, it should take you to the correct street.. also moved this thread the the bugs section :-)

ok, spent most of today trying to figure out whats going on here.. and the only result I can come to is that theres some incorrect information held in the brasil map. I have re-wrote my code several ways, all ending in the same result. In D3 you create a destination point. In this point are several items.. ie. Description, house, Street, City, Zip, Long and Lat.

You build a point up from information, then ask D3 to fill in the rest.. so If I add street as Escocia R and city as S. Paulo, it goes off and finds the correct coordinates (long and lat). The problem comes when I add a house number, when I input house as 253.. as you know it then decides to go completely off route and somewhere else. What I cant understand is that it the same code that I'm using on all the other maps I have, and it works great. so.. at the moment it works fine when not using house numbers on your map.. sadly using the current map theres nothing more I can do.. I have tried including zip codes and double checking everything, but the outcome is still the same, your still leaving it upto D3 to route to that number which is causing the problem.

The only thing I could suggest is trying a more upto date map, the one your using is dated Version 17MAR2003 which is over 2 years old. I am at present downloading one, I wont know till I get it what version it is.. but will keep you posted.

        cheers

Damn bugger.... I wonder why this is happening if it was working fine with MM... damn.... probably some stupid D3 internal working.... CRAPINATOR....CRAPINATOR....

I'll live without house no. for now, and I'm going to try and find out if there is a map upgrade, but these maps were from an old PPC destinator program that was/is sold, and I thought there werent any upgrades. Can you confirm if you get a newer version maybe?

          Thanks!

I don't know if it's related, but if I manually (ie when I am actually there) set my home location as a favourite called HOME and then use the go home button, freedrive routs me to a point about half a mile away on a nearby road. I'm using Q2004 map of UK

this should all be sorted on the next release m8.. complete new address dialog.. for now if you wish, just use the save position on the menu, then type in home.. that will save your correct position for now
