  • Ezsync bug... switches file names?!

Today EZSync played a little trick one me...

Net result: I synced a bunch of newly ripped albums. Each folder had several MP3's, and a single folder.jpg file for the cover art.

Well, for some reason, EZSync decided to name the first MP3 file inside each folder as 'folder.jpg', and then name the corresponding jpg file as '<mp3 file name>'. It basically switched the NAMES of the files around!

It did this for every folder/album... So I ended up with a bunch of 5 MB jpg files (actually mp3 files), and a number of 52 Kbyte MP3 files (which in fact where the JPG files)

I cannot reproduce it, but it did happen, and it was most certinaly EzSync!

Sounds very similar to the "help mp3 file mixup" thread, does it not?

Sorry, I did not catch that thread... YES, it is the exact same issue, which you seem to have resolved in the upcoming version.

      Which I am eagerly awaiting!!!!

Well I am noticing this issue is spread out throughout my entire MP3 collection. This really is kind of a nightmare!

Will there be a fix? If not, can anyone recommend another filesync program please?

Well I fixed the issue I referred to before. I haven't had chance to produce the release yet though. I have moved forward since I last posted but there are still things to do to it (mainly testing actually).
