Downloaded the binaries for the latest release. Overwrote files in Phonecontrol directory. Started Phonecontrol - worked OK.
Amended PhoneCtl.Config.xml to incorporate new phonebooks (used the example on your recent changes page. Saved the file with the same name.
Restarted Phonecontrol - error message PhoneCtl.Config.xml file not found, although its sitting there in the same directory as before.
BTW will this new feature work with Nokias (6230)?
No, you don't. If this message occurs, this means that you mistyped something in the xml file. There are two ways to find out what it is:
1. Load the XML file into the InternetExplorer and scroll down a bit. It'll show you where it is.
2. Install XML-Notepad on your computer. It's an a bit outdated product, which therfore isn't longer supported through MS but it's still good enough for this job. You can grab it here: http://www.webattack.com/get/xmlnotepad.shtml
It's supposed to work with the Nokias... but you've heard that one a lot, didn't you?
Since it's a part of the specification (GSM 7.07) I think it will.
Please try it and tell me the results.
BTW: If you still have problems with the additional phonebooks, please open another thread
there is a new release online now.
There are some visual enhancements and some fixes.
Now you can easily switch from one phonebook to another, because each phonebook has got it's own button.
Also, a refresh button has been implemented, in order to re-read the active phonebook.
In the picture below you'll see what it looks like. All further details you can get by reading the "Recent changes" on the website.
If you download the binaries only, don't forget that you need the new tags for the buttons. You'll find them in the new "Brushed metal" skin within the galery or the new "Skins" thread.
One new feature you'll also find on the website: The user registration...
