  • Guys please help! T610 +PhoCo

Hi everyone. Sorry for my english.

So I have SonyEricsson T610 + Phone Control software + BlueTooth dongle.
Everything is working fine. I can make a calls using PhoCo and I can receive a calls with PhoCo. So it is means that my BlueTooth Driver and Software configured at least acceptable.

The problem is: I have a BlueTooth HeadSet. When I am using my T610 with PhoCo I can not use my BT HeadSet. And during driving in my car I have to speak directly to my cell phone or probably use wired HeadSet. Of course I can use a newest version of Zorro's PhoCo software (He just realeased new version to fix this bug) BUT I know that my T610 can handle with two connections at the same time. But is it possible to use it with BlueTooth headset and PhoCo (COM PORT) the same time ??? Or it is possible only if I use my CarPuter as a HeadSet ???

    So what did I try:

I wrote this in my config.xml in PhoCo
    <UseBTManager device="T610 Vin"controlHeadset="True"mode="OnStart">True</UseBTManager>

I wrote this line at the begining of the config.xml file.
I used regular notepad to do it. I thingk it should be good. Or maybe I should right this line not in Main part of the .xml file, may be I have to write it in the
SonyEricsson Connection column ??? Or it is does not matter ???

    But it did not help.

So please can anyone just write for me step by step what should I do to have possibility use the same time my BT Headset and PhoCo (Separetly I can use my PhoCo or my HeadSet)
Thanks a lot in advance and realy sorry for my English.
    Regards
    Vlad.

        Hi there

i do not think this will work.
        <UseBTManager device="Vinz" controlHeadset="True" mode="OnCall">True</UseBTManager>
This line tells your PC to use the Widcomm Software to connect to an headset and this line must be in the section Communication.

The problem is you can not tell your pc to connect your mobile with your headset.

            Hi there

IMHO this should not work, cause AFAIK your T610 is not able to connect to two different devices via BT at the same time.

vinzer i have the same phone and unfortunately you can not be connected to 2 seperate bluetooth devices. SUCKS and AFAIK, i dont know any other phones that can do it either.
The new version of PhoCo will allow you to have PhoCo disconnect after it makes a call, giving you enough time to connect your headset to the phone.
Its still not a perfect solution and is a little rough around the edges. This is what i have in my config file and where i have it.

              Code:
              <Key id="Key_FK3">:O</Key>
                    <Key id="Key_FK4">:C</Key>
                  </Keys>
                  <UseBTManager device="Fire" controlHeadset="false" disconnectAfterCall="true">True</UseBTManager>
                </Communication>
I set controlHeadset=false because i do not want to use the audiogateway on the computer but instead use my bt headset, so basicly it just disconnects PhoCo after it recieves the call and tries to reconnect some time after.

Ultimately, IMHO none of this stuff is really going to work the way everybody really wants it to work until the hardware starts to support these features directly. Bluetooth 2.0 supports multiple connections to the same device and phones that have BT2.0 chips are supposed to allow multiple devices to connect at the same time. BT2.0 is out but the only problem is where can you buy any device that is bt2.0? I sure as hell dont see any BT2.0 dongles for the pc or any phone that says its using BT2.0. If anybody knows of any, link please.
Ive spent so much time and money on BLUETOOTH im about 1 step from tossing all this crap out the window. IMO the technology just isnt fully there yet.

                Hi there

The number of max connections is not version specific. Usually a BT-Stick (V1.2) with an CSR chip can manage multiple connection.

Here you can see that it depends on the firmware of your stick and the chip which is used.

but does this also apply to the phones? I have 2 bluetooth phones, 2 bluethooth dongles, 3 bluetooth headsets and bluetooth CF card and none of them allow multiple devices to connect at the same time except the dongles on the PC where it will allow say my pda to be connected and also my phone but my phone will not allow the pc to be connected and also the headset or pda or another phone at the same time. If thats not confusing enough. BT2.0 is supposed to fix this.

                    Hi there

                    depending on the phone:
I remember The Sony Ericsson P800 was able to handle multiple connection and for some Series60 devices of nokia there is a tool to manage multiple connections, which also seems to work.

BT2.0 is supposed to fix this.
                    Hopefully.

Guys, thank you very much for your detailed explanations. I'll try a new version of PhoCo. So probably this is a point for me at present time.

Well, LS, my phone can handle up to 6 simultaneous connections (as long as you dont use the same port more than once.)I can be using COM4 for PhoCo, COM3 for activesync, COM 7 for USB exchange (BT Modem) Handsfree for the PC etc. I have a Samgsung SPH i730. I purchased a PocketPC phone for that reason.
