  • Any tricks to increase the performance?

Anyone have tips to make NaviVoice respond quicker and take less resouces?

Having an EPIA board does have challenges. I can get 30FPS in video, good response etc, but when I add NV then it all slooooooooows down.

The response voice in NV shutters/studders and there is a big delay between me giving a command and NV responding, my frame rates if video is running is cut dramatically.

Any tips? or having an EPIA board is just not powerful enough?

I don't have the slow response and stuttering on my Epia M10000.

Wait, I just saw that you were doing this while running video. It wouldn't surprise me if the Epia was not powerful enough.

Thanks Bug for the feedback good to know that no problems with the same board. Even with running MP3's I get sluggish response.

I am going to try and disable VIS see if that makes a difference.

SAPI takes up a lot o resources, especially for a CPU that's not that's about as powerful as a 600mhz pIII.

VIA CPUs perform slower than their Intel and AMD bretherin. so say a 1ghz VIA CPU is around a 667mhz PIII.

And I wrote NaviVoice in Delphi, which is a fast language.

Yup, that's why I don't have a carpc. Waiting for the 300w PSU.
I may reconsider and drop my p4 into my car and get the a64 as a developer's machine

Don't think so. Maybe they would be the same draw.
