That many radios that close together is going to cause all kinds of problems. The idea is kinda cool, what it's targeted at isn't.
      Failure is not an option....

There is a thread going on somewhere on here going on and on about the legality of WiFi "Borrowing". I leave my WiFi open.

edit: found it: http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/wire...ardriving.html I think you posted alot in there, barry.

Anyways, Maybe if the antennas were spread out more. Like on all four corners of a car and then two on the roof You could really increase your WiFi banbwidth.

Mesh networking would be the term for it. I remember when i had Windows 98SE with two dialup modems. You could double your connection speed setup like that.

Oh well, i would sure love to have something that could multiconnect. Maybe even auto jump from one to the next as you drove. Keep the 2 strongest connections and have the other 4 search for the next availible hotspot. Then rotate depending on connection.

I still don't see how this would make your connection any faster. Even when the old "shotgun" modems were all the rage, your isp needed to support it for a faster connection. Having the antennas on the corners of the car won't help either. For antenna diversity to work correctly they need to be placed a wavelength apart. For 2.4Ghz wifi that's right around 5.8 inches.
