  • Orinoco usb silver

    Hi guys,
I just got new wireless card: Orinoco usb silver plus 7Db antenna, but i have issues with it in my setup. After installing drivers from CD (that came with it) "Clien Manager" threw me error, if i remember correctly something about panel applet/old version. Besides that any version of NetStumbler doesnt detect my card. Ehhh...

Whats the newest/best driver that i can use for Epia (under Win XP) also what apps you recommend me to use?

    Thx
    Danny.

      Danny,

Keep us posted on this. I'm getting ready to spring for an Orinoco USB also. What's the difference between gold & silver?

They are basically the same, except Gold has 128-bit encryption
        64-bit key WEP (Silver),
        64/128-bit WEP key (Gold)

Does netstumbler find your wireless cards signal from your car??? or vice versa? if so, then you use AD-Hoc to connect I believe

I think the silver is a great card. I built out a wireless ISP a year or two ago and that is the card we were selling to the customers. I've dealt with it under all the flavors of windows and have always been happy (with the card that is, not necessarily the os ) you can find a number of differnet antennas that will work with it at www.hyperlinktech.com
