  • HUGE echo problem

    hey guys,
got the phone workin, E815 on windows control, no phoco or nothing. works just fine, but i have a HUGE echo problem. im using the logitec noise cancelling mic that others are using, and have played with all sorts of volume settings, but when the oter party speaks, they hear themeselves being repeated just as they speak. echo. its terrible, how the heck did u guys get around this?

placing the mic elsewhere does nothing. i could solve the problem by turning the speakers down, but then if i cant hear what good is the thing anyway!!

    help!!!

I might be wrong because I myself dont actually have a phone thingy set up in my car, but can it be that they are just hearing what your speakers are outputting? So sound from your speakers is just being picked up by the microphone. I dont know where your mic is but I would put it as close to you as possible, like say on your visor or headrest. Dont know if that helped or not but I tried.

The reason probably is that you have the mic set up under your sound controls to play through your speakers. Mute that option, or lower the volume under speaker settings.

It will not mute your mic, only mute the sound coming from your speakers.

Good question, that I as a newbie to all this would like some light shining on, if it is at all possible to cancel or reduce the echo

I eventually put a cut off button in the car, works perfectly but I have to push to speak, no biggie. It keeps the mic echo to 0 as the mic is only active if I hit the buttton, release and it mutes.

That is one way indeed, although the legality is a little dubious in todays world where they check your phone logs if you have an accident.
Maybe a little circuit that can increase the resistance of the mic circuit when it detects noise (or a feed) from the speakers hence muting the mic whilst incoming audio is coming through the speakers. This could be made active only when a call comes in so it doesn't interfere with voice control. Maybe it could be done internally within the PC with a software plugin! Just a thought
