  • This is an interesting item from Pioneer.

I found this the other day and thought I would share with the community. It's something for the iphone/android market that looks like it will handle your sound/radio/obdII/bluetooth stuff. looks promising anyways. http://pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Car/AppRadio SNO

    I like it
I don't wanna be a product of my environment.
I want my environment to be product of me.

i didnt like it its too slow i work at a shop and if u look at the radio itself i'm quite sure pioneer did not make the first batch. the app radio 2 is much better but still didnt do much of an improvement . the os on the radio is nice though

the video looked more like an advertisement for Ford's Mustang, lol

looks interesting, but I dunno I think I'd still rather have my radio be my radio and my phone be my phone and not tie them together so much. that's the reason I don't like to use navigation on my phone; just renders the phone useless for anything else. but I dunno maybe this is different...

the only cool thing about it is that ap radio 2 has HDMI input in the back of the radio im sure someone can figure out a way to use that for something an optional screen for car pc or something. From my experience i wasnt overly WOW'd by it u cant use native apps .you have to download apps that are specific to the unit although it does show video from and program ex:netflix, youtube, sling box..etc, the ipod interface aspect isnt all that great either they coudl've done a better job with that . their interface on the other pioneer radios are nice, if i was to get one i'd get the pioneer AVH-8400 .you can use the apps and have a nicer interface

            Uh Oh

I have an old AVIC F900bt and I can tell you that Pioneer was gawdawful at their development on CE. It's possible they hired some Android engineers who aren't terrible, but I doubt they've redone their QA policies which means they'll still be charging money for a product that doesn't work as advertised.
